It took us two days to go from Thailand’s Chiang Khong, which is on the boarder with Laos, to Luang Prabang, Laos by “slowboat” down the Mekong river. Along the way, we stopped to buy some fish from a river village. We didn’t sleep on the boat. We slept one night half way down our route in Pek Bing, a tourist town so small not even google maps shows it. The population of the entire country of Laos is less than the population of Bangkok, Thailand, yet Laos is slightly larger than the United Kingdom!

Thanks for the kind words Greg! The company who hired me to make these photos takes very good care of it’s people. I’ve been here over a month and I haven’t gotten sick in any way. Even if I do, I am about as well prepared as anyone can be. I look forward to seeing you and the girls when I return to the US.
